Unfortunately, I have a home inspection for my new house tomorrow morning that I can’t skip out on, so I’ll have to miss this one… But, if I can get done early ill try and make the weigh in/cookout

Life’s too short not to fish

Lost a few boats at the end, so we’re down to 7 that are definate. If anyone else wants to fish, just send me a PM or reply here and you can pay at the weigh in.

We may change the exact spot on Spence slightly due to the wind, but it will be very close. I will get over there early to make sure we have a sheltered spot to pull in.

I’ll send out PM’s this am with a few things we still need for lunch.

Can you move this up to Hartwell , I want to fish it

Come on down. I have been to Hartwell twice in the last month. The drive isn’t bad. 2hrs 15 min from broyles ramp to the da m ramp on Murray.

Well, after considering cancelling, the 5 of us that were still in decided to go ahead and fish. The wind was bad, but there were plenty of areas on the north side of the lake that were fishable. Unfortunately, there weren’t any fish there willing to bite our artificials.

Tough fishing!! A friend of mine wound up catching a small keeper that was the only keeper fish caught between the 5 of us. While out there we decided to just have the weigh in and lunch at his house on Salem Point, so we had a nice area sheltered from the wind for that.

Slow fishing and rough weather, but still was a fun day on the water.

Concur, fun but just a trifle uncomfortable. You make good “dogs”, Tim. Maybe next time we’ll actually catch something on our artificials. Sooner or later the wind will lay down and water temps will rise.

I commend those of you who participated on your dedication. Saturday I arose about 11 am from my Nyquil and Suddafed induced coma, took a look out the window and it looked pretty ugly. I seriously wondered if Tim postponed it. I’m glad y’all had a good time.
It looks like this weather may FINALLY break sometime this week.

By 9:30, Diddy and 8 year old Jakie had had enough of the wind and lack of action. I did not take them uplake where I’ve been catching fish due to not wanting to beat them up; so we stayed within a couple miles of the dam. We marked good fish, but other than a few sheepish pulls on trolled swimbaits and bumps on spoons, we had no action at all. Downscan verified stripers. I went back with live bait for 3 or so hours with another skunk. Just an off day. Water temp. was down 8-10 degrees. That probably had a lot to do with it. Jakie is still looking forward to going again soon:)

Got up at 3:15 Saturday morning to go fish a small tournament on Clark Hill. The bass bit pretty good, but it was a really tough day of fishing. We managed to each catch a limit and won the tournament. I got lucky. My last bass was over 7 lbs. and was big enough for big fish as well. It was a wet and windy day, but all’s well that ends well!

Way to go Spoon!!

Fogman, I’ve had a deal in the works for a couple of weeks. Last night I bought my first color depthfinder from a friend who was upgrading his equipment. Now I need you to give me some lessons before next winter, so I’ll know what I’m seeing on the screen. Do they offer remedial depthfinder classes? Just kidding! If I understand it correctly, I should be able to see better detail with the color screen. I temporarily hooked it up to the toon boat this afternoon and all functions seem to be fully operational. If we get a cold winter this thing should be great.

I’ll be glad to help. We’ll get together sometime. Just let me know.
