Tough morning on Sat only managed two 25" and 26" one on cut mullet and one on Gulp. Wind blew harder than predicted and a bunch of boats on the water, had to stay clear of some of my better spots, Back at the house for lunch. Forgot to ware my hat burned heck out of my forehead. tight lines all.
Good for you, Gunny. I went to North Edisto after trout…caught a few good ones but had a hard time landing them without landing net my buddy forgot. Had a rough ride in…the wind was bad enuf, but he blew his engine about three miles from landing. We limped to about half a mile then it died altogether and we came in rest of the way with trolling motor. He said, “At least it’s under warranty!”
Ouch that’s crazy. So how many years old we talking about? I thought if it was under warranty maybe 5 but with extended warranty.
I have a friend who swears by Mercurys. Personally I am running a Yamaha right now.
His was bought December 07 along with his 22 Shearwater. Had alternator go out second year. Had all six coils go out over the first 4 years. Had powerpack issues year before last, so that was replaced. Various other issues. Mercury requires a 1000 MCA battery to stop powerpack failure, by the way. Just a few months left on extended warranty. He has a 24 Pathfinder on order and is trying to decide between the 250 and the 300 Yamahas.
And it’s all setting on an old beat up 02 Hewes, Now when you say Scout you talking $$$$. Just like a woman when the hull is all beat up no amount of jewelry can make it look better.
After throwing artificials for three hours with one fish in the boat I couldn’t help myself and that platform is worth every penny when the water is half clear.
