I’m definitely in favor of an expanded playoff. It seems weird that the “lower quality” FCS teams are perfectly capable of having a playoff while the “big boys” are not.
I really don’t understand why they didn’t do away with the Conference Championship games and do an 8 team playoff. The conference CG’s really are pretty stupid now with the whole playoff system and shuffling of bowl venues.
Oh, I know why. Money. FCS schools don’t have to worry to much about that. That’s why a playoff system is so easy for them.

I think it will expand to eight teams within a few years because there will be an uproar about the ones left out and more importantly money. The Playoff is going to be a monetary boon to them and you’ll see all those reasons for never having a playoff fall away.
