Ran to the 60 on flat calm, lake like conditions, chasing schools of Spanish Mackerel. Water temp was 82.5
Found the Spadefish but didn’t catch any. Had a couple of strikes and runs, but their numbers seem to have thinned out a bit. The Ringtails are still there for the taking, and we boated about 20.
We also floated live finger mullet and managed to catch a 2 foot Cobia, who posed for a pic before being released.
We hit the 40 on the way back, and set up over my Snapper hole. Those poor, virtually extinct ARS are the new Black Seabass. In fact, we caught 3x as many ARS than BSB.
Maybe next meeting DNR can persuade the commercials to give us thumb suckers an extra day to enjoy those tasty creatures.
