I got the chance to ride on The Shark boat today and since it was a nice day, we ran a few miles offshore for some bottom bumping and hoping to hook up with Mr. or Mrs. Beastie. We got their baby instead…35" baby Tiger Shark. After a few pictures, she swam off on her own to grow up and scare the wits out of some day…

Too long out of the water for all those pictures. Take one or two then back in the water to minimize stress. Just because it swam off doesn’t mean it survived. Pretty little guy though.

Olde Man Charters
Naw man, we caught it, took 2-3 pics, put in the live well, took a few more, back in the live well, took a few more, put her over the side until she stroked away.

If you were catching/fishing sharks and that fish swam off with blood trailing out its gills it was likely eaten soon after, not your fault or anything you can do about it but it is still good to try to minimize the amount of stress you put on the fish.
Sharks are tough… They are not as fragile as other fish…
Exactly, sheesh! I’ve been catching them for decades and have had them out of the water for much, much longer and had them streak off like a bullet. Hogwash.
We may have some of the best inshore fishing ahead of us but I doubt many reports will be posted. Especially since every report is ridiculed by the peanut gallery over tackle used or how the fish is being held.

That looks awesome. Probably recently born; not sure of tigers are live birth or eggs. The colors are spectacular. Good catch, glad you released it and thanks for the picture.

Thanks Fritz!
guess again. An internet sleuth such as yourself should be able to figure this one out.

Angler’s Dream
Both. Eggs hatch inside, and after over a year, they give live birth to as many as 75 youngsters like the one here.
Someone posts a newbie Tiger Shark, something most of y’all have never seen, being held by a beautiful girl with the narrative that the shark swam away after being released and some of y’all want to arm-chair quarterback about the pictures or complain about some imagined mistreatment that never happened.
What’s wrong with y’all?
