bait and tackle

coming to edisto in june for the first time. Is there bait shop that keeps a good amount of frozen baits in stock like ballyhoo, squid, and cigar minnows? Can anyone recommend a place to by bait and tackle from on the island? I only ask because I can stock up in charleston when i go pick up the boat. I know sometimes shops run out of bait.

frozen bait is at about every gas station and store on the island. dont know about price compared to other places, but definately not any trouble finding it.

there is ballyhoo down there but i would stock up on bionic in chuck before you came down there. cheaper and better than whats down there.

if you are needing bottom bait thats fine ,but if you want ballyhoo,buy in charleston there bait sucks.

You will love Edisto. Great place, nice locals, great fishing, great restaurants. Don’t forget to find the “sand bar” when youre here.
