Just wondering if there is any bait in the Savannah area. Coming down this weekend to go fishing?
You looking to buy or cast net? Either way you won’t/shouldn’t have a problem.
If you are casting for bait and want menhaden or mullet and you are going to be near tybee, well then put your boat in at the public boat ramp at the last bridge before tybee.
After launching your boat go to the right (away from the bridge) and follow the river until you get to an area at low tide that averages about 3 to 4 foot deep. takes about 10 to 15 mins to reach the spot.
Use caution, the section with bait is about 100 yds wide, however the mud flats in the first turn cover a large portion of the river (less the 6 inches or no water).
I have found the bait wanting to jump in your boat at low tide.
At high tide you have to search harder for the bait, but they are usually there.
From there you could continue on to the sound or turn around and go to the Savannah river or H H. Good luck
If the waves have subsided by this weekend, I will be there on the water.
The mullett are thick everywhere right now, just get a cast net and watch out for the oyster bars.
Give a man a fish, feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will sit around with his buddys drinking on the beach for hours !! ><((((º> J
