So I have never really fished Beaufort at all but I used to shrimp Grey’s hill was thinking about going to down to try and red fish and some trout just have no idea were to buy bait or find it any help would be appreciated.

Hey Larry,
When you cast for shrimp in a deep hole, how deep do you look for? Is there a way to tell on the sonar if there’s shrimp in there?
I threw my net in a 15 to 18 foot deep hole in a creek mouth last week and came up empty.

Mike, usually about 35 feet or so. Yes, can see them on the fish finder. On my Humminbird they show up as little blue hash marks just above the bottom.

If you haul up a pile…remember you can only possess enough for bait…limited to 12 dozen/144…from Dec. 16 thru Apr. 30.
Includes dead or live…so don’t make the mistake of having 12 doz. live and a bag of frozen along…they will likely warn you but could fine you. Be safe, Be legal. 
By the way…mud minnows are working also!

Yep, and it’s easy to catch too many in a deep hole. We threw the net once and had about 25 pounds, had to count out 144 and let the other 22 pounds go:dizzy_face:

No limit on Gulp Shrimp, just how much you want to buy. Color does not seem to matter, I like the pearl white in the rain stained water. And yes they are working.
