BCS has always had one purpose – matchup number 1 and number 2. The “BCS bowls” are just the bowls the championship game rotated through before the BCS NC was introduced. Outside the NC, the bowls still keep traditional ties for the most part. There isn’t anything particularly special about them except the same site hosts the NC every four years.

Any Clemson fan that thinks they deserve to be in a BCS bowl is not in touch with Reality. Duke finished the season with the same record and is actually playing for the conference championship and yet Clemson is ahead of them basically based on preseason rankings that had Clemson in the top 10 and DUKE outside of the top 100 most likely. What was Duke ranked preseason?
