Beach Recommendations

Hi everyone-

My wife and I are returning to Charleston after meeting there almost 20 years ago. She likes to sit on the beach and read and I like to fish. Does anyone have any recommendations for a beach to visit where I can fish and she can sit (and swim)? I’m aware of the usual suspects- the southern half of Sullivan’s and northern Folly. Is there anything else we should check out? Is the southern tip of Folly worth visiting?

Thanks in advance for any help.

South folly has a rock wall and a gully thats sometimes fishy and down by the inlet has disant fishing and gets good sunsets.

Thanks for the info. I checked out the website for the county park-are those hours strictly observed? Is it really as busy as they make it seem? Or is the part I’d be fishing not included in the park?

The wall is the southern end of the park and the inlet is a quarter mile away. You can park on the road before the park to fish it after hours.

Only for parking. You can be on the beach all night as long as you aren’t sleeping.

I’m a bit confused-can you go park at the county park (and access that rock wall) early in the morning, before the park officially opens?

Park on the street, tires off the pavement, and walk to the end to fish before it opens.
