Looking for a place for an anniversary that I’m coupling up with the Beaufort Twilight Run 3/22-23.
I don’t want anything too fancy, but a little more intriguing than a Holiday Inn stay. We stayed at the Beaufort Inn years ago but that’s WAY out of what I’d like to spend. $500 all in would be the top of what I’d like to go.
Any houses/condo’s out there that need renting? She’d like on the beach or right downtown areas. Something with a dock or a great view, I could probably sell too. Beaufort, Port Royal, etc.
One more thing, it’d be nice if the place inspired her to let me get us a place down there. I’ve put several offers in front of her to buy distressed places and make it our own but she keeps waiting for the luxury spot out on a beach somewhere, like a woman huh?
I’ve proven we can do it around where we live, but she won’t buy into my capabilities. I hit her up for one on Pigeon Point Rd and one in Port Royal. The one on Pigeon Point Rd, I show it to her every time I’m down there and say “See… see!!!”
So, if there is a condo downtown or a little house off the beaten path that has a surprise level of impression, it’d interest me as well.
My wife and I pass through Beaufort by boat a couple of times a year and we love the Beaulieu House Bed and Breakfast on Cat Island. It is waterfront, has a dock with a great view, reasonably priced, nice ambiance and great service. Once we got caught in some bad weather and didn’t get into Beuafort until almost midnight with a tropical storm blowing. The proprietress picked us up, sopping wet, at the municipal marina, carried us to the inn and fixed us up with some hot food and strong drink. No extra charge
It’s a far step up from the Holiday Inn in character, but not much in price.
i live on cat island and can vouch for the Beaulieu House Bed and Breakfast. i’ve put family and friends up there numerous times. they have always said that they enjoyed their stay and everyone was friendly. there is another restraunt at the clubhouse that has pretty good food too.
just watch out for deer on that road… my record is 27 deer sighted one way at night, and i have 360 degree tinted windows. no telling how many more i missed.

You should come to the Twilight run. Its over in Habersham, my wife and I walk a 5k and then eat bbq and oysters. The oysters alone are worth it. http://beauforttwilightrun.com/
It helps a charter school in the area. My wife used to run and I ran it a few year ago, but you can look at me and tell that I haven’t run in a while.
I feel the same way about running as I do about poling the boat. I’ll run if a grizzly bear is chasing me, and pole if I’m stuck in the mud, but I’m not doing either for recreation
