I see that it is 3 weeks long this year. When is the big sandbar gathering? I hear its all three weekends but when is the best one to come to? I’m from Charleston and have never been able to make it till this year. Been to Rockville for many years but I hear this one is a good time and better.

Both weekend are usually pretty big, If I were going to make the trip from Charleston though I would come on the weekend of the concert. You can hit the sand bar during the day then watch the concert from the boat. Its right there next to the sand bar.

If you try to anchor by the marina to watch the concert have a good anchor, that’s some hard bottom and fast current. Put out a rope for Pee swims or you may end up heading towards the bridge. I’ve seen several boat break anchor and bump into others causing some acute boater rage.
It’s a good time, but too many ding bats in boats with beer over the last 10 or so years for my liking. I let the younger generation enjoy it.
Thanks for the advice. Yeah every year gets worse and worse as more and more idiots with no idea on boating buy boats and ruin all the fun for everyone. You can tell by simply watching them unload/load their boats!!
