Before going into full preparation for our move to Beaufort, I figured I get in a little tuna fishing. Fished on a buddy’s boat out of the Outer Banks. There has been a good Bluefin bite when you can get out. Pretty bumpy on the way out, but laid down as the day went. We got one bite of the right kind and on the right reel (80W). Fish bit a blue white islander rigged with a horse from the flatline. The fight lasted about 45 minute with some epic run offs. Perfect sized tuna w/o a door. We have caught some bigger ones in the past and they are a bear to get over the transom. Hopefully, get out on some yellowfin in May and then looking forward to running the boat down and figuring out the fishing down there.
