where should I go to learn the basics of shrimping in and around Edisto? (i.e. what to look for, the basics of what to do and how to do it?). We just bought a place off palmetto road and my sons and I want to learn how to do it. I have a 18 foot cc for transportation.
any help would be greatly appreciated!

I cant throw a 5 foot cast net without catching shrimp in every throw, its gonna be hard to not catch them I would say.

Do you guys shrimp near edisto state park, big bay, or do you make the run over to the st. helena? I will be down next week for my 2nd shrimping adventure and hope its better than the first.
