I usually fish off fields piont saint Helena sound area, I’ve got a small fiberglass boat, 14’, the water out there gets rough really fast and I’m not as brave/stupid as I used to be!
Was thinking of trying bennetts point, I have never put in there,is the water around there any more “stable”, how’s the fishing?
I live in cottageville, so I just don’t feal like driving all the way to edisto or MP, any advice would be apreciated, thanks

Bennett’s point will get you to lots of areas out of the sound and rough water, or try Brickyard landing before Bennett’s point. Or put in at Willtown and fish down stream. Or try Steel Bridge up or down stream red’s, large mouth, catfish, bream, and little sting rays. Not sure what this rain has done, but lower Asheepoo, Edisto, and Combahee are full of reds. Fresh shrimp on the bottom or cut mullet.
If you don’t want to go far the point marked on the map is a good starter spot very close to the landing.
I usually fish for reds and trout, I really want to catch some flounder,I fish the chehaw quite a bit.
both times I fished brickyard I didn’t catch any thing, weather sucked though,I’ve put in at west bank a lot, it’s only a short ride to will town, haven’t really done that good in that area (willtown) but it’s awful tempting to run back up the river and go catch some bream or bass, thanks, I might try bennetts point tomorrow
