I usually fish the chehaw river, by the old trussel,or fields point, I was wanting to try putting in at Bennett point, was wanting a few tips on where to go for some trout or reds, and where the giant sandbar is that the new guys always hit:sunglasses:,thx any info would be appreciated
Your best bet is to follow someone, you can get in trouble quick there. If that’s not possible go slow, watch your depths and make comparisons to tide. Google earth and maps unique can help you a lot. Go at low tide and watch for oysters.

If your putting in at Fields point save the long dirt road and just put in at steel bridge. Not much on trout but spot tail are everywhere… up and down river. upriver smaller catfish are crazy everywhere you drop.
The only reason I’ve every put in or met someone at Bennett’s point was to go offshore or trawl for some shrimp. Chickenhawk’s right on getting into trouble around there if you don’t know the area. Aside from that I’ve heard some people catching some nice trout and spot tail lately in that area.
