Well, got bow light taken apart and cleaned up. Need a screw and nut to finish it…did get hurt a bit but it will only be seen when deployed…in the dark; so not terribly worried about it.
Got Simrad final installed in the pod and pod mounted on console with butyl tape. Sealed down good…I’m happy with it for now. I plan on glassing it soon.
Also got the SonicHub2 mounted inside the console and got the NMEA backbone built and powered, connecting SonicHub2 to GO7 I can control all of the radio and bluetooth from the touchstreen instead of having a separate radio. Sucks I can’t use the network for my gauges…but if I ever decide to go 4-stroke I’ll be equipped for it at least. Got console speakers mounted and wired to SonicHub2.
Installed fuse panel, 12V cig outlet, and started making a plan to wire. I epoxied down some cable mounts so I can run wires inside the console where I want without any screws penetrating the outside. The plan looks good inside the console.
I think I can wire this thing if I can actually decipher the switch wiring, meaning which wire goes on which terminal…
Thanks for all the help…this thing might actually float and work one day soon!

In process pics suck…there’ll be plenty when it’s “done,” lol.

Nice work!
Well, got all of the switches reverse engineered last night, and go the illumination working as well! Today I should have all of the primary wire and ground wire in, and all of the connectors I need, and I can begin getting this thing wired up tonight or tomorrow. I decided I’m just going to do it myself. No way other than that to learn it and get good at it! I won’t be intimidated next time, thanks for the help.

Good luck Buddy! I hope it goes well…the key to wiring is to take your time!

thanks for the effort
while you’re here, I know an uncrowded stretch of ICW way up north. i got my people taking a prelimary look into a feasability study to consider the possible logistics of a hypothetical on water drag race. you and PK should race

Not sure who PK is, but the more crap I stuff into this thing the slower I’m gonna be, lol. Just unboxed the onboard charger…holy moly that thing is heavy. And I’ve decided to run two batteries now…ugh.
Gotta get her floating and moving before I’m racing anyone!

Just re-read the P-K comment:question:;; Why in ell would anyone want
to make a Yami sound and run like a merc…, that imo , would be a downgrade…[:0]

Got all fused leads running from fuse panel to switch panel run, and grounds for switches and for gauge illumination. Simrad, radio and NMEA network are powered.
All that’s left is getting switched power back out of the panel, down to a distribution block, and out to accessories.
Small problem arose though with the onboard charger…it’s LARGE…may have to build up a shelf and put it on it, I’m out of room on my mounting boards under the console.
Oh well, I’ll press on.
Today the motor will come back off, and tomorrow goes for media blasting and then to get black Awlgrip applied over the weekend. Can’t wait to see how beautiful it is.
The end is somewhere in sight…

quote:do yourself a favor, Corey, and don't put money on that. a 16 bentz with a 90 Yamaha 2 stroke will run in the upper 50's pushing 60, with a stock motor.

My Dad’s boat hit 62 with myself and another guy, no gear, full of gas cruising…
Mine will be a bit heavier I’m afraid…but I’ll be happy with 50+

LB… BTW, I like the work/effort you are putting into your boat.

50+ for any boat is pretty fast. Cool stuff you are doing with your boat.

Well, got the motor off and back on the stand. Spoke with Douglas Lee at Charleston Surface Blasting about blasting the motor, he said bring it on, so I masked off the cowling (paint is fine - Awlgrip) and the wiring and loaded it in the trailer. Took it over to Doug behind Gerald’s on 17 at his house…15 minutes later I was down to raw castings. VERY VERY affordable as well, highly recommended. Got blasted with crushed glass, not sand, really cool process to watch. Wish I knew beforehand that he would have let ME do the blasting, I wouldn’t have worn shorts!
Big thanks to Ben Rogers at Holy City Boatworks for the paint work…he’s saving my arse with this one. Should have listened before and let him paint it to begin with…
