Looks great Buddy. I bet that wire chase was fun. Why did the pc guy remove the wire?

I’m not sure…but it wasn’t terribly difficult once I realized there was a piece of the powder coat guy’s wire tucked inside the hole stopping the string from flowing!
But it worked!

Anyone have any suggestions on what to cover all of this rigging stuff with where it goes from motor to inside boat?

That’s what I planned on originally until I found this…think it will look incredibly clean…
T&H marine rigging hose, has some flanges and a union to expose only the fuel bulb…looks nice!

Luckily, I have access to 4’ of this stuff, and a flange…for FREE!

Leadenwah, she looks great. Love seeing an old Bentz brought back to such solid and beautiful condition. Really looking forward to seeing her in the water. She’s gonna be a rocket with that motor. A new Yammer Hammer F70 pushes that hull into the mid 40s with a 17" prop and bounces on the rev limiter. That 90 with the plate and more pitch will be ample.

Man, it’s looking good. Having actually seen it in person, it is going to be a fishing monster.

If that was the case the number would be higher.
Any reason you doubt me? Or are you simply trolling?

Well, time to tackle the 3D printed prod from JumpNCobia…using his recommendations, today I baked it at 212* for 8 minutes, to “anneal” the plastic and give it some future heat resistance (sun). It held its shape fine, and now it’s time for sanding and painting. I was actually going to resin it and use Awlgrip to fair it out and make it perfect, but this was all to hold me over until I can modify the console later anyway. So I’ve decided to sand it and use Plasti-Dip on it…it does well in the sun, is waterproof, and is incredibly easy to fix. I got most of the printing lines out by sanding the piece, so fairing doesn’t seem to be necessary. I think it will be fine… So if I like it, I’ll just use it as a structure to fiberglass over and call it good.
Anyway, some before shots.

Well, got the console put together almost completely.
I installed the Taco rod holders on the sides, and used a 24"x6" piece of starboard on the inside of the console with large fender washers to give some backing to the rod holders. Installing it this way also gives me the starboard to screw/mount all of my electronics and stuff to…
Also got the 3D printed pod temp installed. I am going to fasten it down with some butyl rope underneath, to give it a good seal, but haven’t gotten the butyl yet. Pod is perfect for the unit…just the right size. My only complaint is the back isn’t perfect, but it’ll work for sure.
Tach is on left side of Simrad, water pressure and fuel on right side. Switch panel will reside between the helm and the controls.
I am using a Lowrance/Simrad SonicHub2 for music, so it’ll all be controlled through the Simrad head unit or bluetooth, all through the NMEA network. I was not aware I had to buy a “starter kit” to build my network (even though not using for engines) just to hook the two together…there goes another $75 - ugh…oh well.
Tomorrow speakers get mounted in console (forward of rod holders on bottom) and Pod permanently mounted and Simrad installed…this thing is really coming together.

Looking good! Yeah the back of the pod was tough to pull off. Basically the printer has be calibrated perfectly to extrude a solid string of plastic in mid air for the first layer of the back panel. Its a combination of perfect temp, head speed, and cooling all at the same time. I almost had it right but there was a little sag across the 6 inch span. I will get it right on your next boat!!! lol

It looks tough, and I don’t know what I’m looking at!
No worries, it was a temporary design anyway. But it works perfectly!

Of course everything presents a problem…
The motor has to come off again. Something is going on with the paint on the midsection. It got rained on today, first time it’s been wet since I painted it with Moeller engine paint, and the paint now has big gray spots in it…and is beginning to come off. Guess I’ll blast it back down to metal and get it sprayed in Awlgrip. Might as well match the cowling…
Flip up bow light got powder coated…when reassembling the light, the screw that the flip up mechanism pivots on wrung off inside the hole. I guess the powder coat got it bound up. Amazing how quickly and easily it wrung off.
