Well, today went just like all the rest with this boat…
Dropped trailer to the water to make sure she didn’t leak, and was approached by a guy named “Shawn.” He’s apparently a forum member, and recognized the boat…nice to shake your hand man, I really like your little rig too.
Well, boat didn’t leak, so once the chase boat arrived, I removed the stern straps and backed her down. She slid right off of the trailer and motored away fine.
Jumped up on plane like a bat out of heck and was GONE…then died. She was starving for fuel at high RPM, and I suspected that might happen when I was priming the system…just felt restricted.
Replaced all of my mechanically fastened zip ties on the fuel line and replaced with worm gear clamps, and got the same result…no air intrusion. Removed fuel cap while running to check vent, no change, ruled out the vent. Got her to starve, and pumped the ball while running…VOILA! Certainly starving for fuel.
Ran out and grabbed a new OMC brand fuel primer bulb, and a 3/8" hose union and went back to Limehouse and dropped her in. Fuel bulb didn’t change a thing…so I bypassed the fuel water separator with the hose union and I was back in business…
Guess the cheap filter I had lying around isn’t worthy after all.
Anyway, boat shook down good. I love the jackplate, really helped clean up the water pressure/trim relationship. My tach wasn’t working, so need to diagnose that and really open her up and see what it will do. Everything worked as planned, need to move 'ducer up a fuzz, but otherwise everything is good to go…
My trailer on the other hand is in need of a refresh…guess that’s next.
Can’t believe it’s almost over.

That’ looks awesome. Congrats and I hope to see it in action soon. Time to get some blood on the deck to break it in. Fish blood of course not yours.
MANY HEARTY CONGRATULATIONS!!! Unlike Chrisv, when I use all caps I am yelling!
Beautiful job, Buddy. Really. Beautiful job.
You have a truly beautiful “Robert Bentz” Bentz-Craft flats boat. UBW is building more, but, none will have her storied history. Good on you.

It was nice to meet you today Buddy. The boat looks incredible and hauls some serious azz. You have a stealth fishing machine and something to be extremely proud of. I regret not taking video of you going by me or when you first got her wet. No matter, she will get you to the fish quick and in style. Nice work Bro.
All i can say is WOW</font id=“size6”></font id=“red”>

Congrats…a lot of hard work over the past year and it’s paid off nicely!! Now enjoy it!
Thanks for all the kind words guys…
Any advice on what to scrub this non-skid that’s not too abrasive? Regular brush does okay, but doesn’t get all the “stuff” out of the skid.
Now to fix this trailer…ugh.

Congrats man. I too got Misty over this last post. Really appreciate the effort. I’ve enjoyed this thread a bunch. That’s one of the year
Nice, can’t get any better than that!!!
Buddy , How skinnee does it sit???
If you don’t already know about it, check out Woody Wax. You can use it on non-skid and makes for easy cleaning. I use their boat soap too. Great products!

I’ve read about it, but not really investigated. I assume you get stuff super clean, then apply it, and it makes cleaning it in the future easier?
Thanks
