I can’t take credit for that, that’s Happy Bob’s handy work.

And a note for those who will inevitably see it, yes that is mill finish aluminum, not anodized…getting PC, so no need for anodized and the cost it brings!

Thanks for the compliments. I’m glad you’re pleased with it. I can’t wait to see it black powder coated & on the boat!

Man, I have had a blast following this thread. Leadenwahboy, I believe I saw you on the way to work this AM. Saw the “A Salt Weapon” decal and I thought, “Hey, I know that logo!” Great work with the Bentz.

Nope, wasn’t me you saw…wonder if someone stole it!

The redfish image is a google image anyway, I didn’t design it, just added some text.

Thanks for the compliments. Put paint on hold because of this weather, and now it’s cleared up! Of course.

Topside gloss got painted yesterday! Today we buff it, Thursday we tape and put down non-skid…BUT I NEED HELP!

The picture below shows the deck. All of the grey areas are primer, and along with the hatches, will receive sprayed on non-skid. So the edges that you see painted will be gloss and smooth, but taped off shapes in the ares that are non-skid…

I can’t decide what to do with color. Should I spray the non-skid the same color, darken it a tad, lighten it a tad? I think AwlGrip nonskid will appear a bit darker anyway, especially once it attracts some dirt/grime, but should I change the color to give it some contrast? To make the non-skid stand out?

I’m torn…What are your thoughts?

I’ve used the Awlgrip Grip Tex a few times, excellent stuff. It got enough texture that it stands out well enough to see it. I would keep it the same color if it were mine.

Same color all over, only way to go! Great looking job it would be a shame to ruin it with 2 colors!!!

Green is a no go. Thought of doing it same color and doing green splatter, but don’t want to lessen the work with splatter.

I’m doing same color. Maybe I’ll get ballsy prior to spraying and placing a drop or two of black in there and seeing how it happens. It won’t be dark, that’s for sure.

The whole load should get dropped off this week. Just want to make sure I only make one trip and don’t want to change anything!

BLACK. Everything else on the boat is black. My goal was no stainless and no aluminum (silver) colors, but some will remain. Just trying to minimize it.
