best pier for pin rig king fishing in NC

Bogue Inlet
Pros
anchor rod holder
Shade at T
Strict T-zone rule ? you can?t even get to T-zone unless you have king fishing ticket. You can plug at T as long as you have king ticket.
Cons
$20 for King fishing.
Crowded ? famous pier so usually many people are there pin rigging.
Naval station nearby so jets and choppers fly by and make noise.

Jolly Roger
Pros
community bait tank
community bait and drop net.
Cons
$20 for King fishing.
Only 850ft long pier
No anchor rod standing - you can’t stand anchor or fighting rod. Thier pier rule is to lay both rods by rail. I hated this rule because my bait did not go very far.
No T-zone rule - They allow bottom or plug fishing at T-zone. Last time I was there, people were throwing gotcha plug between pin rigs so lines got tangled, lost baits. I never go back to Jolly Roger after that day.

Johnnie Mercer’s
Pros
Concrete pier
Cons
Concrete rail is bit high so it?s hard to plug or gaff.
No king fishing rate but $8 per rod. so it’s at least $24 for pin rig.
Parking fee. You have to pay $2 per hour from 9am to 6pm. So $18 parking fee for all day fishing.

Kure Beach
Pros

$12 for King fishing.

Cons
Only 712 feet long pier
Crowded ? famous pier so usually many people are there pin rigging.

Ocean Crest Pier
Pros
$15 for King fishing.

anchor rod holder
Strict T-zone rule ? Nothing allowed other than pin rig at T-zone. You got to step out of T-zone for bottom or plug fishing
Shade and table at T
Cons
Have to have a fighting rod holder - pier rule
Crowded ? famous pier so usually many people are there pin rigging.

Where and when we going? ha

Thanks for the info king!

I just came back from Kure and the bait tank was out of service. They removed it the last day I was there so it may be fixed now. Also there are no rod holders on tbe pier so most people make their own piece that clamps onto the railing to hold their anchor rod and fighting rod. But I agree with Kevin, when are we going? Lol

Also… No cast nets! All bait has to be caught on bait poles
