Best spot for surf fishing

Coming down to Edisto for Easter and although it will still probably be a little early for good surf action I want to maximize my time on the water by picking a good spot. I know Jeremy inlet is pretty good but I don’t feel like walking that far to get there.

I’m thinking somewhere on the south end maybe around the 2800 block. Are there any better suggestions. Mainly looking for whiting and such. Thanks.

If you give a man a fish he will eat for a day.
If you teach a man to fish he will spend all of his money on tackle and go hungry.

Also the ends of the groins on the down tide side. Start 25 yds straight off the end and come back in up the down tide side close to the rocks. It’s structure - has scared off the skunk for me before.

Looking for new territory?

I’ve caught Whiting and a catfish there before lol.

THE OCEAN IS NOT YOUR SWIMMING POOL!!!

Just got back from Edisto and had pretty good luck in the surf. Fished the 2700 block on Friday and caught 14 whiting in about 3 hrs. Also caught a cool looking puffer fish.

Here’s a picture of my fish pre-frying pan.

(sorry about the picture quality, my camera died so I had to use my phone)

If at first you don’t succeed, skydiving is not for you.

3 hours well spent

Mmmmmmm, shark bait lol.

Oh yeah. I got a 12 incher that’s just begging me to go for a ride on my yak with a hook up its butt:smiley:
