I have always wanted to get down to the coast this time of year and am considering a 1 day trip to Charleston. My plan would involve surf fishing the majority of the time. Sullivan’s Island would be my 1st choice because of proximity and I am somewhat familiar with the area. I don’t see as many reports for Sullivan’s Island. Can that be attributed to the fishing in the area or is there just less fishing taken place there? Would it be worth my time to look into trying somewhere else? Thanks for any help.
Ill be testing out Sullivan’s this weekend. I’ll let you know how I do.

I would appreciate the report. Thanks.
Well, I fished sully this weekend Saturday and Sunday. There were actually a lot more people there fishing then what I expected. Unfortunately no one was catching anything. I landed a few small blues but that’s it. I did have one big one on the hook for a little while but the leader snapped and I lost him. I’m still kicking myself because I checked the leader before the cast and it was a little nicked up but I felt it was still good to go. Also, at one point I reeled in a fish head. looked like a small red. he must have hooked up without me noticing and a blue or shark took the rest of him for a snack.

Charleston is a long drive for me so your report is a little discouraging. What area of Sullivan’s were you fishing? Did you fish with shrimp at all? Was there mullet available in the surf? Thanks for your help.
