Just came across big bridge and the all to infamous

I’m glad it only took a boat going over the rail for the State to finally fix that. I was afraid they would wait until somebody was killed.

Great news thanks Wicked

I was going to come on here and post about it, you beat me to it. They have the North (or west) side of the bridge done. It looks pretty good. I think they will do the other lane tomorrow.

Now they need to do something at the Sand creek bridge. When I am driving my car and I cannot move to the middle of the bridge it feels like I hit a cinder block when heading to Edisto.

Glad to see our tax dollars at work for goodness for a change! Not before it was needed!

I am not overly impressed with the repair job. There is still a sizeable dip coming from concrete to asphalt. I would say its 60-70% better. It looks like coarse asphalt so I thought maybe its just prepped for the top layer but they got the reflectors in place.

All in all, its better but not right. I guess its close enough for govt work.

I agree Matt what a waste had all the equipment there and still is a dangerous bump, what a let down.

Why is it that road work crews have no idea what the word smooth means?

Ya went over it today. Still a problem. Oh well

I pulled an 8n tractor over the bump yesterday. The trailer was very tongue heavy and I thought she was going to come unglued.

It is a half-assed repair at best. Is there anyone to talk to about it? I think my son could have done better when he was 5 with a Tonka truck and cat turd scooper.

Probably a bad base under the asphalt being that it is in the marsh. If you remember Calhoun St in Charleston, they kept resurfacing and the ground kept sinking. Might need to dig it all out and drive some piles and put in a concrete road bed. In the meantime they need to put bump ahead signs and everyone needs to slow down.

If you ain’t hooked, you ain’t doing it right.

As I use the Dawhoo boat ramp exclusively, I now slow down coming and going over the “repair” and put my flashers on. If it pisses someone off, too bad. What a sorry excuse for a repair job. The State  must have done this one as there no time for a bid.

Who are the representative and senator for that area? Sounds like an elected official needs to get involved.
