Caught this guy over on the broad river pier this afternoon. Caught on live shrimp on the bottom on a fish finder rig. Tide was almost to low tide, but was still moving out. He was 28 inches and 10 pounds. Felt like a (**() anchor coming up from the bottom!

How do you get them up on the pier, some kind of drop net? You can tell I know nothing about pier fishing.

I have a big drop net. Its about 3 feet in diameter, lower down, scoop up fish, haul em up! Fishing was hot on the pier this morning.

Thanks! I threw him back for another day. I was packing up to leave and as I was pulling in my last rod he was there. I had work this afternoon and would not have had time to clean him up before, so he is back in the drink.
