So, what’s the story? How’d you get a dolphin in your boat?

Oh great, I’ve been catching them there for years and now someone doesn’t block out the landscape…
How has only one other person asked for the story? Seriously, what in the world happened that led to you with a dolphin in the boat?
PalmerScott: I think that’s a dolphin – I don’t think we have porpoises here. I could definitely be wrong, though – if we do have them, I’ve never seen one. Porpoises have a blunt head, right? Like a female dolphin fish?
I assume that you found it dead and retrieved it. Is it legal to possess a dolphin/porpoise even if you did find it dead?
I also want to know “the rest of the story.”
Fritz, if your people wanted a fish fry, your still in business! Book them again, cause that thing ain’t fish:wink:

Yeah, I do too sometimes. Even though I know it’s a dolphin, calling it a porpoise can help with any confusion between the dolphin mammal and dolphin fish. Same reason I’ll sometimes call dolphin fish mahi, though let’s not get that conversation started
Hmmm…seeing one of them dead is kind of a double edged sword feeling to me. On the one hand you feel a little sorry for the critter, but at the same time, flipper has caused me a lot of grief throughout the years while fishing. If flipper is not running off the fish, it was stealing fish off the hook on the way to the boat. And then, flipper would take the stolen fish out in deeper water and throw it up in the air playing with it and teaching the baby how to catch them too.
In the end, of course, nothing lives forever.
