Thank goodness there are restrictions on keeping them, I only counted a little over a thousand.

How deep were you? The water looks very clear. Great pics!!
Looks like 89 on the meter.
I’ve never seen that many either. Hopefully it was just a fluke. Didn’t see any bait in the video so wondering what that many fish are eating to keep them there. I have never really researched them but wondering if you were looking at a spawning aggregation.
How do we send this video to the NOAA fisheries survey department?

Thanks, I spewed coffee on my keyboard. Today’s winning post! Hands down.
Right on Skinnee!
This needs to be reported, I mean you clearly found where all the BSB’s have been hiding!

ring ring. Skinneej this is Jay Leno. That sh#! was funny. That must of been where I was fishing last weekend, couldn’t get bait to the bottom without catching one of those over fished Black Sea Bas.
A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.
Well atleast we know they are still endangered
Bragging may not bring happiness,
but no man having caught a large fish,
goes home through the alley.

That must be where we fished Saturday. We couldn’t get a bait near the bottom without getting bsb’ed. We must have caught a few hundred. Of course everywhere we went was over run. We were pulling up bsb’s with smaller bsb’s in there mouths. Very frustrating.
Like I have been saying…
were already a nuisance
now a nightmare.
Spots like this in fall and winter aren’t anything new… You don’t even need to put bait on your hook. They’ll come into the boat holding onto your sinker or anything else you put on the bottom and move around slightly.

We hit some new dive spots that we have not dove yet on sunday and the fish overall were real light. Obviously the flounder have moved in and the majority of the bsb have moved out I will upload the video of a quick look see dive i did on the subway cars at the ross. Got four dives in on 3 new pieces of structure
I bet I caught 100+ “bsb’s” saturday on a butterfly jig. Half of the time I didn’t even jig it, I just picked it up off the bottom and held on! I caught some that were close to five pounds!

Here is one of the dives from sunday… 85 feet deep at the ross. Real light on the fish and the few that were there got the best of us at least on this one. We moved out 5 miles and it was like a completely different fishery loaded with fish.
Plus you get to hear a grown man cry under water
quote:Thanks for the vid. Can I give you a piece of advice? Don't ever use your line to pull a fish or hold it. Always swim towards the fish and keep the line slack, that way they can't pull off.
