I am looking for a bay boat and i think I have narrowed it down to a blue wave pure bay 2400 with a Suzuki 300. I have looked at most brands and rode in the ones I liked. From a ride quality, very solid and dry, performance over 60mph and stability, very little pitch and roll in rough water, the Blue Wave seems to be superior, not to mention the fit and finish is way better than anything in the price point. I know there aren’t a lot of these on the water in this area, but they are huge on the gulf coast and virtually impossible to to find used, which always seems to be a good sign.
Does anyone here have any experience with these boats good or bad? $60,000+ is a lot of money, but it in this case it seems like a deal compared to the competition.
I wanted other people’s opinion in case I’m missing something about the boat. After doing my research and checking out the different brands it surprises me I don’t see more of them on the water around the area. I am hoping that some of the people on here maybe have one or have had experience with one and could offer first hand info. I have looked at the hull truth and some other forums and so far pretty much everything I see about the boat is positive.

Dewgas, I run a 2015 Blue Wave 2200 powered with a Suzuki 225. By the way Mine is for sale as I have another one on order. Boat info is below. I run this boat for a living and have for a few years now. I can tell you first hand that this is the best bay boat I have been in. There isn’t really a huge blue wave presence on the east coast yet, but that’s changing fast as they are up to number 2 bay boat sold in florida. They have been the flagship bay boat on the gulf coast for years though. If you have any other questions or want to do a test ride, just let me know. I am willing to negotiate a little bit, but this is a steal for this boat.
It’s time to sell the boat to make room for the new one. Here is the 2015 Blue Wave 2200 Pure Bay powered by a Suzuki 225 4stroke. The boat is equipped with a Raymarine a98 gps/sounder, Minn Kota Riptide 112, Minn Kota Talon, comes with a load rite trailer. The motor has approx. 650 hours on her (always maintained) (3years warranty left on suzuki)
always well taken care of. This is the best bay boat on the market and is the number 1 bay boat sold on the gulf coast. Give me a shout for more details, pics, test ride…
Asking: $39,900. That’s a steal for a rig like this. Won’t last long!

I looked at the 26 avenger and didn’t feel like it had anymore useable room than the pure bay 2400. Not to mention the cyclone seating on the blue wave is one of my favorite aspects of the boat. I will for sure take a look at the 24 avenger if there is one to see, but if the boat is similar to the 26 in fit and finish and space it probabaly won’t be the boat for me.
If you are not interested in my pure bay 2200 or 2200 in general, Doss Marine up in Chapin has a nice blacked out 2400 in stock. Tell 'em Capt. Stephen sent ya. Awesome dealership with some of the best prices around. Let me know if you need any info. or want to schedule a test ride in a Blue Wave 2400 Pure Bay.

Dewgas, have you checked out Sea Hunt’s RZR 24? It is their high performance version of their bay boats with a stepped hull. Comes standard with a Yamaha VF250 SHO. They also make a 22 RZR. Check em out! Let me know if interested.
“There’s a fine line between fishing and standing on the shore looking like an idiot.”
I’m coming out of a sea hunt bx22, it served its purpose, but I am looking for a higher end product this time around. I looked at the new bx but I might as well just have kept mine, nothing has really changed. I haven’t looked at the rzr, but I don’t see the point of a stepped hull on such a small boat. If it’s rough you aren’t gonna be able to go fast enough to keep it on the step and if it’s smooth you are gonna have it up and running past the step. Maybe I am missing the point of the step so feel free to change my mind if I’m wrong.
Do a reach on The Hull Truth about Blue Wave. You might want to look at the new Sea Pro. The are definitely not your granddaddy’s Sea Pro of years past.
The 248 sea pro is a good looking boat with some nice features. However the 15" draft is 4-5" more than the blue wave which is a concern. Based on the performance reports it run 54mph with a 300 which is decent, but the real numbers are typically lower which if so is a deal breaker. I see the 248 as more of a hybrid than a true bay boat based on the specs. I have a test ride scheduled in the near future to compare the ride quality to the blue wave in hopefully rough water, so I guess that will let me really compare the two.
And I have read a lot on the hull truth and messaged several blue wave owners and they all have had positive things to say. A couple have pointed out some very minor issues they had, but they all said the factory stood behind the boat 100% and took care of them quickly, which is really all you can ask for.
Blue Wave looks really dated with the fiberglass rod storage under the gunnel. I’d much prefer rod storage with some toe room, and maybe even some knee combing pads for leaning on the gunnel.
These types of tactics speak volumes for this boat. Don’t see many around here, and doubt that will change anytime soon. Plenty of quality Palmetto State builders to choose from.
I know Captain Stephen and he is a Blue Wave guy. When i made this post he had no way of knowing it was me, otherwise why would he try to sell me his boat on here? I actually emailed him after the fact to tell him i was the one who had posted. The reality is I am a T-top manufacturer and he is a fisherman. I have a relationship with several Blue Wave Dealers and in fact now own a 2400. Not sure what kind of “tactics” it is by seeing what people’s opinions of the boats are before I buy one. I have relationships with numerous boat dealers and manufactures and if I inquire about them it would be for knowledge as well, not a “tactic”. Regardless of what i do or who i do it with, when i buy a boat is it with my money and i try to make the best decision i can before spending it. Based on this thread and others i read and posted in I actually looked at several boats i hadn’t otherwise considered. In the end the Blue Wave still ended up making sense for the price and what i planned to do with it
Nothing wrong with getting a big discount on a boat with the intention to talk up the product and get sales in the area. Lots of manufacturers do that and sponsor guides.
Ha, I honestly did not know it was him. Crazy luck! Dewgas does make some solid T Tops for real. Look to him for some custom casting platforms too. I did sell my boat however and am happily engaged to my new 2017 Blue Wave! Yes, there are some quality builders in the palmetto state, but I will put my Blue Wave up against any boat of comparison. Test rides and seeing is believing! No joke! Blue Wave isn’t No 1 on the gulf coast for no reason! It’s only a matter of time!
