Put in about noon today at Bluffton public ramp and headed down Bull Creek to a “Hot Spot”. Bait was everywhere and moving like crazy, so I anchored off and threw cut mullet on a bottom rig and live shrimp under a cork. Ended up catching a small black tip (I think that is what it was anyway), and two decent-sized bonnetheads. The first bonnethead was foul-hooked in the dead center of his bonnet, so the hook removal was super quick and easy. No real fish today, but I’ll try this spot again. Was nice to slime my boat for the first time.
Decided to motor down Savage Creek to another “Hot Spot”. Didn’t catch anything there, but wow is it ever pretty back there. I’ll post some photos tomorrow if I get a chance. It was a beautiful day on the water…way nicer than yesterday.
