The disaster that was last year’s economy hit all aspects of the fishing world hard. Most of us had to cut back how much money we could spend on fishing and the offshore market was hit harder than any other type of fishing, due to the costs involved in getting an offshore trip together. The Governor’s Cup billfish tournament series was also hit hard and many of the local tournaments that have become a great tradition were cancelled, due to lack of sponsor’s funding and lack of participants. The Bohicket Tournament was a casualty of last year’s economy combined with a new ownership group, but it looks as if this year Bohicket is back and should be a great tournament with the always great location. Below is a press release with details about this year’s tournament. The tournaments are great fun to go and enjoy the festivities even if you are not able to fish.
