My boys finally played a complete game last night and thumped Bama. One thing I noticed ( but have known since 1971 when I became a true Sooner fan), was the absence of any “Big 12” posters or signs being held by players after the game. That is because OU doesn’t need validation from any other program. They are the winninest football program in the modern football era. 47 conference titles, 7 NC’s and 842 wins says enough. It was nice not having to see Alabama players standing amongst the confetti holding up , not “Alabama” signs, but “SEC” signs. What a joke.
And I’m so glad we got to see AJ McCarron’s family group hugging after every big Bama play. Where were Trevor Knight’s parents in the stands when he was throwing not 2, but 4 td’s? Hmmm. EsecPN has thier own agenda and it is so obvious. They raked Stoops over the coals for comments taken out of context. All he did was give credit to the top half of the SEC and question the bottom half. Fair. Not a word about it after the game last night. Crickets chirping.
OU showed Bama things on defense that according to McCarrron " we hadn’t seen before". Hmmmm, what? Surely they have seen great defense in the SEC. They have for sure, but they saw better defense last night. Despite being routinely held by the Kounjo (sp?) brothers, Eric Striker spent more time in the bama backfield than Mc Carron did. All this without 2 of our best defensive players who were out for the season. In fact, OU was without 7 starters, one of whom is their best offensive player. And still beat them.
I was going crazy all night about the ACC officials not calling holding on Bama, despite Striker being groped all night. Even on the final play where he str
