My first trip to Botany Bay this morning. Rough water, one metric crap-ton of current, 5 oz. of lead couldn’t keep my bait in place. Caught a half dozen whiting, some of which went back on a bigger rod. Had one monster on the line for a minute, guessing a big shark because she cut through the 100 lb. fluorocarbon leader I was using, but it fought like a mac truck. Other bait used was cut shrimp and squid. I was fishing about 100 yards to the right of the beach access.
get a way to take your tackle and keep walking to the first creek…fish the surf there. It’s 1/2 mile from the beach access.
