I read a piece in the SC sportsman that the island was donated to the state by the late owner. Due to have access to surf fishing, birding, beach combing, etc… the beach maybe by this May 08. Plans include WMA hunts in future for dove, deer, and ducks!
I’ve always wanted to go out there and check it out. Only see it from N Edisto River side out the boat. Really pretty place. Should be some good creek fishing there it seems too. Anyone know how you get across - is it a bridge there or what?
I found part the answer. Got on that link tarpon had on GT/MB section and found a lot. That demo.geogarage.com/noaa/ is cool. There is a road all the way to the beach across the marsh and lots of fields. Not sure how those access that point next to Deaveraux Bank. Must take a ferry of 4x4 the beach at low water. Nice place to check out for some crabs and fish. A WMA hunt there should be killer.
Political Correctness: A doctrine fostered by a delusional, illogical minority, and rabidly promoted by an unscrupulous media, which holds forth the proposition that it is entirely possible to pick up a turd by the clean end!
Concerning Botany Bay: There will be hunts and dove shoots limited
in numbers by field size and area to be hunted. There is a causeway to the beach but visitors will have to park in the field at the beginning of the causeway and walk over. Two launch points are
planned and you can launch whatever you can get on top of your
car or in your pickemup…no trailers of any size. No boats will allowed in the two ponds (brackish to salt) bankfishing only.
