Our first trip this season. Plenty of small Whitting, which we were using as bait. Wife and Daughter had a good time catching Sharpnose Sharks.
Beach has lost a lot of sand to erosion since the last time we were there, last summer.

Those sharpnose are pretty fun to catch. I love watching my boy and wife reel in fish, I’d rather see them do that, than catch 10 fish myself. It makes my day, thank you for the report:smiley:
I know Botany is a WMA, do you need a WMA permit? Any special rules? Just the long walk to the beach.
No WMA permit, just SC fishing/saltwater fishing license.
Nope, no WMA permit required.
No fishing/bait catching anywhere between the parking area and the beach. They restrict Dogs/Horses and removing Fossils/Artifacts.
On the high tide getting a cart back to the beach end of the walk path can be tricky with all the trees close to the water…
Friday I had the wife hooked up to a large shark on cut shad, it was fun until the line broke. Nice job getting the kiddo on a shark.
