Heading Down to Edisto this coming week to spend time with the in-laws. Being from Charleston, I fish the ditch and areas around IOP a good bit by both boat and kayak. Over the years I have found a few good spots for the Reds at the end of Edisto, but have heard some great talk of areas near Frasier Inlet, off Botany Bay rd. I am taking my Yak w/ me and hope to gather some intell about the inlet. Tarpon? Safe to park? Reds? Gear? Thanks for the insight.
I was down there a few weeks ago and a guy caught a few big reds from the beech at Botany off of mud minnows. He also caught a few nice sized sharks (3-5 ft.)Fishing was good back in big bay creek. You can launch you Kayak from the state park ramp and fish the docks right along the creek. I have an 18ft boat but I seen two guys fishing from Kayaks. I caught several nice reds and a few trout.
