Caught the tide a little late but a couple nice reds on shrimp, pile of whiting and a small Black tip. Nice day in the surf, thanks Optiker for the heads up.

Very nice! After I lost my anchor at the reef I creeped my way up ocella creek and tried to catch a stray flounder or red that came out the pipe from Jason’s lake. No luck there. We did get a nice trout on the way out.

I will pm you my info. I think next weekend, unless there are 2 footers at 10secs, I want to do some night surf fishing. It want to sit, drink beer, and shoot the chit. I haven’t done that in a few years.

Sort of off topic but how long is the walk from the parking area to the beach at botany? Also, is it usually packed with people fishing the surf?

It’s right at 1/2 mile. It’s a nice path, so a cart would not be an issue. In the 1/2 dozen times I have been out, I have never seen anyone fishing. I think most do not want to drag their gear out that far.
