Botnay Bay Plantation

Just wondering exactly where it is. I am coming down to Edisto this weekend, and I am not bringing my boat due to truck failure. My five year old is upset because he can’t go fishing in the boat. Thought I may take hime over to Botnay Bay to fish. Thanks for any advise.

First dirt road on the left before you get to Pink and George’s road.
I can not remmeber the name of the road, but it is the first one on the left after you past the Old Post Office Restaurant (Store Creek).
Go to the end of the road and Botnany entrance is on the left - can’t miss it - great place!

You gotta love the South Carolina Lowcountry.

It’s Botany Bay Rd. Right across from the tree with all the junk in it, in the marsh. Goes about 100+ yrds to a church then goes to right. Straight shot to the end. Gate on left and a kiosk with info and sign in for visitors. Beautiful place!

froggyo, you going down for the Gov. Cup? Have a good time if you are. That Botany Bay island is a great place for young and old alike. Hope we can keep it as pristine as it is now. Yall will enjoy it. Try to fish the pond and then make a trip out to the beach. You been striper fishing on Murray lately?

Fished last Wednesday in the Pine Island area with 11 short ones. U fished lately?

Hadn’t fished for them in over a month. Been catching some crappie and a few catfish. Seems like all I’ve been able to catch this year are shorts. Father-in-law and a bud gave up on them and went to Clarks Hill. Caught a couple of big ones but that’s about all. Fished Beaufort a couple of weeks ago and did OK with the inshore. Maybe in a few weeks we can get on the big fish at Murray. Maybe by then they’ll be in their summer pattern. Yall have a good time down at Edisto.
