Hey, someone caught about a 25-lb dolphin on a Penn 650 yesterday too. He was pretty fun on the light tackle. I still don’t know what the huge leviathon was that rocked me off (no take-offs on that guys ) early on. That big grouper you caught was very nice, Paul. Thank God for a good day with good people and good fishin’. Paul, thanks for sending me the pics, and for keeping the “special” ones on the QT.

P.S. Most of y’all don’t know Ron Burris because he doesn’t post here. He was our host on his 25-foot Parker–an excellent bottom-fishing platform. He’s the dude with the shaved head and freckles–a good friend. Ron, I know you’re not reading this, but thanks for hosting us on your rig yesterday, Capt.

No trolling. All were caught sight fishing under the lumber or under the boat while anchored.

I had a blast guys. My first dolphin on the fly was by far the highlight of the trip.

That’s exactly what you did because there are no ARS or gags! Slack off on the B liners next time, and you’ll be right on track with their data! Catch more pinks and BSB also, because they want to take credit for those species’ “recoveries” after recent reg changes.
The fact that you caught two big kitties also makes them look good for tightening them down to one per boat. That’d explain how you could catch two of them now that they’ve saved that species.
