I think what he meant was they are a better team than what they put on the field, not a better team than Carolina. Maybe he didn’t, but that’s how I read it. The fact of the matter is we beat 3 different SEC teams over the past 3 years that beat Carolina, and we couldn’t even win 1 out of 3 with 2 at home. That’s just sad in my book.
No excuses. I can’t believe right after the game Tajh dismissed the game and said there are more important things than this game. Maybe so, but not right after you lost, 5 straight. Clemson may have their sites set higher, but right now the fans want the streak to end. I would have been happier with an 8-4 season and a win against the cocks, than 10-2 and an embarrassment in the Orange Bowl again.
I am starting to think he came back for a shot at the Championship, when that ended he wanted records, Heisman, and a payday. We might have been better off if he would have just entered the draft. Being a long-suffering Gamecock fan, that is exactly why I have had a little fun but won’t be a jerk about it. This won’t last forever, football is cyclical and our turn will come again. And, all the excuses Clemson fans are coming up with have also been uttered by Carolina fans sometime in the past. Personally, I would have been happier had we beaten Tennessee and gone to the SEC Championship but, since that ain’t happening, beating the tigers is the next best thing.
