when asked what the most important game is this season said “South Carolina without a doubt. I want to be the best QB to ever play at Clemson and know I won’t be unless we beat USC this year”.

Back in the day South Carolina was an after thought and a given W. My how things have changed.

Very surprised by this opinion as I think Clowney will be numero uno no matter what.

Not really all that surprising. Other than FSU, they don’t play anyone in the ACC. Get past them, and they will win the conference. Not wanting to lose 5 years in a row I am sure is on his mind. The Georgia game is probably as important because a win really sets them up for a phenomenal year. A loss, not so much. The Carolina game becomes super important if the taters come in undefeated because it would probably mean a shot a Bonzo’s mythical Nat. Championship.

I dont think the UGA is that important. It is the 1st game and would not effect them much if they run the rest of the table.
I think CU will win. UGA is notorious for a slow start and CU is notorious for a fast start.

And no doubt FSU is the biggest obstacle for ACC champs.

Think about it. A 1 loss SEC team, a 1 loss PAC 16 team, a 1 loss Big whatever team and a 1 loss ACC team. Who gets left out? The team from the weakest conference. Just my .02.

I agree DF. I guess I’m thinking if any ACC team runs the table, they would still have an uphill battle against a 1 loss SEC, BIG whatever team.
However if CU runs the table, then they would have beat 2 good SEC team in the process. So you are probably right, they need to run the table.

with 1 loss and beating 2 top 10 SEC teams (or FSU) might actually propel us pass the PAC-10 and Big 10/12 1 loss teams depending on who they beat.

Just don’t see any of those teams from the PAC 10/Big 10/Big 12 beating two top 10 teams because their best teams don’t have strong OCC schedules like we do and don’t think there are 2 top 10 teams in any of those conferences.

Or am I crazy?

Not that it matters through as OSU will probably go undefeated and the SEC will get the other spot.

You are probably right but it also depends on that 1 loss. to whom and when in the season. Does Clemson play UM

If you are talking about Maryland then yep…we play them away. Luckily it was the Fridge that had our number and he is now here fishing behind goat island.

But I see your point just because Clemson finally didn’t have a WTF game last year (for the first time in like 10 years) does not mean it won’t happen this year.
