braid or mono question for red hunters

Got a question for you guys catching all the big reds at Folly. Are you using mono or braid off the pier? I use braid for everything and have never had a problem off the pier, but I’ve seen a lot of discussions about this on other sites.

Also, what kind of setups are you using on the bull reds and how far out are they?

Braid all the way for me. 65 lb. I use a short 60lb. mono for the leader and pyramid sinker attached to a barrel swivel. Have never gut hooked one with this method.
