first trip out on the new bote. traded paint w/ all the boats at the hole. took a while to get everything setup and now there is still plenty more to do before she is setup exactly the way i would like her. it was painful not having electronics up top. caught a blackfin right off the set and missed a few more early. ended the day with 2 mauis, 4 blackfins, and a wahoo. also were attacked by a squadron of new jersey bluefish. ride in and out was nice - boat cruises comfortably right around 29 knots. dad is amazing - in his 80s and still loving it. it was a real treat to have him with us on the first trip, along with mark, tom, PQ, and striker sarah. sarah wrestled her first couple of tunas and 400yds of line to the boat just like greg1 had instructed her. his lessons are well worth the cost.

Great way to break in the new boat Daniel. Sounds like you guys had a fun crew out there as well. Me and Rebecca will team up with you and Sarah on the fish pretty soon. My dad fished with us at 63 and I am always hoping he has a few more good years left. Your pops gives me a lot of hope! Also, I bet he liked the new ride much better!
Sounds like a sweet ride. How far back were you fishing for the tuna? Good day and that is really cool your old man still makes it out there…
Put another log on the fire…
Nice work Daniel. Look forward to getting out Saturday to find the tuna fish.
How about a Father-Son one day tourney? Might be fun sometime this summer.

Good times. Thanks again CD.
It was really amazing how putting the bubbler way back turned them on in the afternoon. I think Striker Sarah’s tuna may have given SJ some competition for the trident if we’d weighed it.
fisheye - sounds good. you let me know the date and we will make it work. better yet, if more folks were interested, we could have a few boats. might be a fun new format for the area.
cracker - did you get all of the info about MUSC that you needed? If not, give me a call back. we were fishing our bridge poles way back… with enough string out that i had several narrow escapes from center consoles interested in trading a little paint.
i hope to have the 10" navnet up top as of tomorrow… it will be nice to be able to stay put for more than 5 minutes.
josh - thanks for the help today. grab some more of the fish early tomorrow morning if you would like it… the cooler is in the same place. a few folks are coming by to grab some, so show up early if you want to be sure to get a few filets.

Did the sale go through on the CD?

“Women should be obscene and not heard.”
We are keeping the boat at Tolers on C dock, which adds a good bit of excitement to every boat ride… we get to play hide and seek with the dredge pipe.
the CD sale should be complete this coming week. i will hate to see her go, but she will be in good hands. the new boat is a 32 Albemarle with 440hp Yanmars. She did great for the first trip… the Yanmars sip the fuel better than some… 156 gallons for the trip. let’s hope we get the hasselhoff thumbs up for the wknd.

CD, You are big time now. I don’t ever want to see a 6 rod spread pulled on your boat again. I’m not going with you unless we can have 13 out there. We’ll teach Sarah how to rig baits and Rebecca will serve us cocktails as we catch a nice breeze up in the tower.

hope that i’m still out there in 50+ years!
j - i’m still waiting on your lessons. i just hope that your rates don’t go up before i am able to get you to ride along.
