I was skunked on the surf last trip on the Sullivans side. Heading down early morning next Sunday and Monday. High tide looks to be around 10 am. What should I be throwing, and what artificials should I use for flounder and others near the rocks?
for flounder deffinetely use gulp mullet on a jighead

Thanks. What size jig and gulp? What rig should I use for the stationary rods? I was thinking a sputnik with circle hooks. Do you guys use these in the surf? I’m staying at Shem…should I just use a minnow trap in the creek and use mud minnows for bait? Finally, is fishing the incoming high tide a good time?
4" gulp with a 1\4 once jig. For the stationary rods use a double hook bottom rig with 1-2 once pyramid sinker. I would use fresh cut shrimp cuz it catches everything. Incoming tide is best

I agree except to add that I usually bring 3 and 4 ounce sinkers too just in case the smaller ones can’t hold.
A bad day of fishing beats a good day of work anytime.
I drove out there the past weekend, is there a lot of rocks out in the middle? Don’t want to make a cast with to heavy of a weight and not get it back.
