I have a meeting in Charleston next week. A friend suggested that I surf fish at Breech Inlet. Any info on access, parking would be appreciated. Thanks.
Easy parking and access on either side, but in my opinion the Sullivan’s side is better and fish close to the rocks on the down current side, or down by the fort on Sullivan’s is good as well. I have never fished IOP but there are some others on here who do with success so they may be able to help you more.
What he said and: The easiest is to enter the beach at Station 31. There is a set of rocks right there and another set to the right about 40 yards. The there is a bigger set about 100 yards to the left closer to the inlet. I do the best the last 2 hours of ebb and first 2 hours of incoming tide. Down side of the rocks. For flounder, trout and reds, mud minnows or finger mullet on a Carolina rig work well. Soft plastics on a jig head worked slowly can produce well too.
If you decide to fish in the inlet, wading is prohibited due to dangerous currents. Good luck and have fun !
