Broad Creek Boat Clean-up

Our group’s effort to raise and remove abandoned boats from Broad Creek
on HHI took a step forward today with the assistance of Capt. Jim Givens with SeaTow in Savannah. Capt. Jim gave our group a really low price to raise the 34’ Sea Crescent this afternoon. SeaTow really helped the boating community and our thanks go out to him and his fine crew.

What sank her? She looks in pretty good shape!

What do you do w it now?

Can it be fixed up to sail?

Salvage parts and take the rest too a landfill?

Can it be sunk offshore for a reef?

The Crescent Moon , an abandoned boat, sank when it came off anchor and lodged itself on a shell rake at an odd angle. It is in good shape but for the engine and wiring below deck. Mast , Hull etc. all look in good shape.

We have a person in Sav. who may want to take it and try the fix her up. We want to find someone to take her off of HHI, so we do not have to deal with it again.

We are working with SeaTow to raise the 30’ sailboat , the “Nanna”, that has been sunk for 2+years in Broad Creek.

Are the owners not held responsible for their boats? How does one purchase one for fixin up or they really worth the effort after being submerged in salt?
