Broad River Shrimping?

Has any one ever done any Shrimping above the 170 bridge during the day? If so, how did it go?

Larger side creeks off Bird Island Creek are good. Beware sandbars. Go slow. Find muddy water on mid-outgoing down to low. Shrimp usually congregate at the mouths of small drains. On low-incoming to mid-incoming, they gang up in 1 foot of water waiting to get back in the grass. Let the edge of your net brush the grass. Day shrimp are usually smaller for me, especially early in the season. For bigguns, shrimp the main riverbank at night in areas where deep water is close to the bank. Boyd Creek and tributaries is probably good, but I have not shrimped there. Whale Branch is good early in the season, but gets wiped out quick by the fleet.
