And offshore starting June 1st.

Anyone know if Wadell is collecting live Cobia this year for breeding in the event someone catches one they would like to donate?

FYI, if one is donated that does not have the DNA structure that shows it was one previously released from hatchery, it could help speed up the recovery of the Port Royal species. I believe last years samples were 83% Wadell cobia. Have to prevent the inbreeding that is occurring.

Im not saying don’t keep any. Just saying it has been proven in this case that they, Port Royal Cobia need help.

At least, in this case we have actual scientific proof of what is going on in state waters vs the offshore debacle (Feds)!!

Wadell is doing the same collection program this year. The fact that most of the Broad River fish
caught says natural population is in big trouble.
Last year only 4 fish were caught in the Broad River collection program.

I fished the Broad on the incoming Sunday with no success. I saw very little bait balls on the sounder and despite chumming, no shark activity. Lots of turtles for some reason. water temp was around 65.

All things being equal, I would rather be on the water.
