made something big and shiny jump out the water yesterday. i’ve never seen line come off a reel so fast, i thought it might melt. soon as i took it out the sand spike, saw it jump once and broke my 50 pound test.

Nice work Yak. Did this big and shiney fish hit a live or cut bait? I had a buddy and his pop caught a huge tarpon about 10-15 years ago from the beach. He told me it hit cut bait while red fishing.
I hooked a tarpon on the FB pier 2 years ago fishing for redfish. Threw the hook on the 6th jump. Was using cut mullet. It all happened so fast!
It took cut mullet. Was fishing with two buddies and we all switched to cut mullet after that
