Bug repellent?

Any recommendations? I Dont have too much of a problem with mosquitoes or gnats… Deet works great for that. I need something for those (**() ankle biting flies that hurt like a sum-b#tch. HELP!!!

We launch out of Buck Hall recreation area and the horse flies are terrible! I use OFF! Active Sweat Resistant and haven’t had any problems with them since, other than those dang things hanging out under my t top. Hope this helps!

Be careful where you spray that when applying, it etches plastics such as fish finder screens etc.

Repel 100 is a good one. It’s 99.8% deet.

Very true, anything with heavy deet will eat right through a fish finder screen

When the bugs are bad I use a thermocell and it’s super effective

The only repellents that actually work are those containing Deet or Picaridin. The others are all complete marketing BS. Picaridin has the added benefit of not destroying plastics.

The thermacell is also amazing and is highly effective. In particular, mosquitos just vacate the area. I’m not sure that it’s mode of action works for flies.

I would put Deet on one leg and Picaridin on the other and see which one works best for flies.

Give No Natz a try. It sounds hippish based on the ingredients, but the stuff works, at least for me.
