Bull Red - rock pile

Headed out to sav. Rock pile on Saturday morning with my daughter . Beautiful weather on the last of incoming tide fishing with frozen menhaden. Caught one nice bull red in an hour’s fishing.

Sent bull red back down using anchor rope for fishing line and waited for the great white shark bite to turn on. After 2 hours released red .

2 other boats also fishing on site, including a charter by Capt Stephen Page shown in photo with an obviously overloaded boat . His charter ended well with a fabulous dolphin encounter on the way in . Another positive Trip Adviser rating .No other reds or great whites caught or hooked to my knowledge that morning:smiley:

We took a long trip up the Sav. river and headed home . To be so close to Calibogue Sound , entire Sav river area is very, very different than the saltwater areas I am used to . Fun was had by all.

** - just joking:sunglasses:Did not use bull red for bait . Baby harbors seals are well known to be bait of choice. I think all local bait shops will be carrying them soon.
